Russia: Decision about limitation of barley export may be adopted soon
According to the Minister of the ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexey Gordeev, the Government may soon adopt the decision on additional measures for grain export from the country, AgriMarket reported December 4.
According to him, the limited export volume was fixed at 12.5 mln tonnes. After reaching this volume, the export would be additionally limited. As the Minister noted, there are two ways - the complete ban as well as increasing of export tax.
At that, he declared that the grain export dynamics slowed down recently.
Currently, the export tax for barley is 30%, but no less than 70 EUR/t.
Let us remind you that starting from July till November 2007, Russia exported 9.7 mln tonnes of grain. According to the market participants, considering the shipments in December the grain export from the country may total 11.3 mln tonnes. Thus, they would export only 1.2 mln tonnes of grain to reach the limited volume
