USA: Wet conditions slow planting of barley across Northwest region
The wet weather delayed spring barley planting across much of the region, particularly in northern Idaho and Eastern Washington, The Associated Press reported April 13.
This weekend's warmer weather gives growers a chance to get back in the fields, and they hope to catch up fast.
In Oregon, spring barley planting was ahead of last year's pace and the five-year average.
