Australia: South Australian farmers warned they may pay fees for storing their feed barley
South Australian barley farmers waiting for prices to improve may be penalised by having to pay storage fees, ABC cited an industry consultant on February, 27.
Farm industry consultant Robert Rees expects feed barley prices won't go higher for some time because of a global oversupply of feed grain.
He says the fee for storing grain in ABB-owned facilities is minimal.
"Relatively small really, it's in percentage terms, it's simply another cost that growers will have to wear, and that of course reduces their own return."
