Cambodia: Majority stake in Kingdom Breweries bought by a local private equity firm

Leopard Capital, a Cambodian private equity firm, announced on August, 5 that it has acquired the majority stake (55.5%) in Kingdom Breweries for $2 mln.

Kingdom Breweries aims to secure a foothold by producing high-quality craft beer in a microbrewery in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh.

Cambodia’s beer market has been surging in recent years, but with half the local population still "under-age", consumption should double over the next 5-10 years as the kids grow up and everyone gets richer.
