Australia: New South Wales, Victoria barley threatened by locusts
New South Wales’ and Victoria’s barley crop is threatened by locusts, BBC communicated on April, 22.
It is estimated tens of millions of dollars in damage could be done, after recent rainfall across the drought-affected inland had signalled bumper crops of barley and wheat.
Media reports suggest some 10,000 hectares of barley and wheat have already been destroyed in the New South Wales central west, with one farmer losing 25 million carrots.
