Russia: SABMiller launches greenfield brewery in Ulyanovsk
SABMiller’s Russian subsidiary announced on October, 14 the opening of its greenfield brewery in Ulyanovsk.
The brewery, with an overall investment of RUB7.2 bln, has an initial capacity of 3 million hl/year, SABMiller RUS said.
"As we sought to increase our capacity in the Russian market, the commitment to economical and social development by the government of the Ulyanovsk Region made it an attractive area for us to invest in. In addition to the investment associated with the building of the brewery, SABMiller RUS is committed to investing in the broader society through our corporate social investment and other sustainable development projects," Grant Harries, Managing Director SABMiller RUS, commented.
SABMiller RUS is one of the leading brewing companies in Russia with a market value share of 10.8% and volume share of 7% (according to ACNielsen data, December 2009).
