United Kingdom: July-August barley exports down 60.5% versus the same period last year
The UK exported 90 thousand tonnes of in August this year, with Spain (26 thousand tonnes) and Germany (23 thousand tonnes) the main recipients, HGCA reported on October, 20.
This brings the Jul-Aug cumulative total to 170 thousand tonnes, which is below the Jul-Aug total of 273 thousand tonnes seen a year ago.
However, barley export availabilities are forecast lower, with the HGCA Early Balance Sheet putting total season exports at 709 thousand tonnes, meaning that 24% of the estimated season's exports had been exported by end-August.
