USA, MI: Rochester Mills Beer to expand product offering

Rochester Mills Beer plans to expand product offering and distribution of brands that are currently available beyond the brewery, Drinks Business Review reported on January, 4.

Rochester Mills Beer has selected the newly formed Rochester Mills Production Brewery to produce its Cornerstone IPA in full pint, 16oz sized aluminum cans and on draft for distribution to local bars, restaurants and beer merchants across Michigan.

The expansion includes a newly renovated 48,000ft² production facility that features a 50 barrel brewhouse, new fermentation tanks, canning and bottling line, a private tasting room, marketing and management offices.

The company expects the production to start in the first quarter of 2012. The brewery also has plans to release Rochester Red Ale and Milkshake Stout beer brands and a rotating selection of seasonal beers.

The expansion will allow the company to produce up to an additional 100,000 barrels per year and the multi-stage capacity expansion will take place throughout 2012.

Further expansion capacity exists on the site that would allow the production of over 200,000 barrels in the future. Rochester Mills brewing operations director Eric Briggeman will lead the brewing team at the new facility.
