World: Grain markets volatile, production and quality estimates vary
In the northern hemisphere the present crop year is judged as very good one day and rather poor the next day, industry analysts said earlier this month.
Markets have been extremely volatile, corn and soybeans came a long way down. Planting and crop conditions had been good in North America. Europe was plagued by frost damage, winter and early spring dryness, followed by abundant rains in most parts of the Continent. Concern continues over the situation in eastern Ukraine and southern Russia.
All grain and oilseed markets are strongly affected by the economic and financial crisis in the world, originating from the southern EURO countries, but influencing the economic outlook all over the world.
