Canada, AB: Big Rock Brewery releases SAAZ Republic Pilz

Big Rock Brewery has unveiled a fifth addition to its Brewmaster's Edition - SAAZ Republic Pilz, The Drinks Business Review reported on September, 5.

Created by brewmaster Paul Gautreau, the brew is available in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba until January 2013.

Gautreau said he believes that in a craft segment dominated by ales, there is a place for a true European style pilsner.

"SAAZ Republic Pilz is a light lager generously spiced with Czech hops which fills that niche," he added.

Alberta-based craft brewer Big Rock Brewery produces premium, all-natural craft beers. Big Rock's portfolio includes 12 ales and lagers, Rock Creek dry cider and an ongoing selection of seasonal beers to be released through the Brewmaster's Edition.

The company's products are sold in nine provinces and three territories in Canada, and are also available in Korea.
