USA, MO: Boulevard Brewing to have a new CEO

The founder of Kansas City-based Boulevard Brewing is giving up the title of CEO to become more active on the engineering and beer-making side of operations, The Sacramento Bee reported on September, 4.

John McDonald will remain president, while industry veteran Mike Magoulas replaces him as chief executive officer.

McDonald founded Boulevard in 1989. It's now among the nation's largest craft brewers, selling its beer in 23 states.

Magoulas worked most recently as a regional vice president for MillerCoors. He said he considers the Boulevard job the capstone of his career.

Magoulas has worked in the beer industry in Milwaukee, Wichita and other cities. He decided to become a beer and wine consultant in Joplin, where he had another business, and Miller and Coors merged last year.
