USA, IL: Grey Eagle Distributors to buy Illinois Distributing

Grey Eagle Distributors, an Anheuser-Busch wholesaler for St Louis County in Missouri, has signed an agreement to purchase Illinois Distributing, another Anheuser-Busch wholesaler based in Belleville, Illinois, The Drinks Business Review reported on September, 7.

Expected to be completed by end of 2012, the transaction includes assets and sales regions of Illinois Distributing, including St Clair County, Monroe County, Collinsville and Granite City.

Illinois Distributing sells and distributes approximately 76 brands of beer to more than 850 retail accounts, while Grey Eagle sells nearly seven million cases of beer annually. After acquisition, Grey Eagle is expected to sell nearly ten million cases of beer annually and serve more than 3,000 retail accounts.

Grey Eagle will also increase its sales territory from Monroe County, Illinois to Gasconade County, Missouri, making it one of the largest Anheuser-Busch distributors in the country.

Grey Eagle Distributors will retain the Illinois Distributings' operation center in Belleville.
