USA, NJ: Cape May Brewing Company continues to expand
Brewery news

The Cape May Brewing Company just completed a large expansion to their once small operation at the Cape May County Airport, nbc40.net reported on November, 28.

"We started very small brewing 12 gallons at a time as a commercial brewery, then worked our way up to 55 gallons at a time and now we're up to about 200 gallons at a time and looking to get even bigger," explained President & Co-founder Ryan Krill.

The popularity of the small brewing company has grown rapidly in Cape May County.

So, in an effort to boost economic growth, the once small brewing company received an economic development loan from Lower Township, which they used to expand their operations both behind the scenes and in public as they recently completed a brand new taproom.

"We just recently opened the taproom this is the product of the economic development loan," said Krill. "It took us about 6 months to get this completed."

"It's really, really exciting to see this place grow and grow and grow and grow from the little place we were a couple of bays down," said taproom manager Daniel Otero.

With the new expansion, the Cape May Brewing Company was able to hire more employees than ever before many of which, including Krill, gave up careers to work at the microbrewery.

"Quite remarkable, I mean I said to everybody there's like a one and a million chance for a brewery to end up in Cape May County let alone for me to be the brewer at Cape May Brewing Company," said brewer Mark McPherson.

"I love being here every single day even the worst day is way better than my previous life working in finance," Krill expressed.

And with their sights set on expanding, even more members of the brewery say they are happy to have received so much support.

The Cape May brewing company is now open four days week during the winter but their brews can be found in 20 different locations throughout Cape May County.
