USA, NC: Foothills Brewing releases Batch 69

Foothills Brewing has developed a new beer, Batch 69, to be released by the end of the week, journalnow.com reported on May, 28.

Winston-Salem-based Foothills and Wicked Weed contain elements of the recipe for a prominent beer for each brewpub - Sexual Chocolate Imperial Stout for Foothills and Freak for Wicked Weed.

The brewpubs said the name comes from it being the 69th batch of beer brewed at Wicked Weed since they opened in December.

Foothills announced in April that it is expanding the Southeast reach of its craft beers through a major production expansion - buying four 200-barrel fermentation vessels.

The company said the expansion eventually will increase its production by 72 percent, or from 13,000 barrels a year to 40,000, as well as allow it to use its existing 100-barrel vessels for new flavour development.
