UK: Barley exports in February just slightly higher than in January this year
The latest trade data from HMR&C showed the largest drop in UK maize imports for the season, so far, between January and February.
At 172 thousand tonnes in February, UK maize imports were 45% lower than in January.
Wheat imports, at 82 thousand tonnes in February, were 34% lower compared with January and brought the cumulative total for July-February to 1.55 mln tonnes.
Barley exports from the UK, at just under 80 thousand tonnes, were only slightly higher than January's total.
