US, SC: Cicops Cyderi and Brewery to opens in Spartanburg

Cicops Cyderi and Brewery has opened in the Hub City Taphouse at 197 East St. John St. in downtown Spartanburg, Greenville News reported on September 30.

This is the first entry in a new wave of Upstate breweries. The taproom has been pouring guest beers for about two weeks. But starting October 2, Hub City Taphouse will finally have its own house beer on draft. The first beer provided will be a - a cherry dunkel.

The brewery is still awaiting its final federal permit, said brewer Kolby Garrison. Meanwhile, he's hard at work on brewing. His first cider is in the tanks and will be out in a few weeks. This is the Upstate's first craft cider house and only the second hard cider maker in the state.
