USA, MI: ELK Brewing opening second location in Grand Rapids

A growing Grand Rapids brewery is opening a new location, woodtv.com reported on January 19.

ELK Brewing is planning to build a second brewpub and restaurant at 400 Dodge Street NE, outside Fifth Third Ballpark in Plainfield Township.

The brewery’s owners outlined the expansion plans on January 19, the same day Founders Brewing Company announced its plans to expand.

ELK Brewing’s second site will have five times the brewing capacity and three times the room of its current brewery on 700 Wealthy Street SE.

The new brewpub will have up to 25 taps, a small store area, a full kitchen and seating for 100 people inside and 120 people outside during the summer.

The owners said they plan to open to the new restaurant and brewpub in the early summer of 2016.
