USA, OH: R. Shea Brewing Co. adding more fermenters to keep up with demand
The R. Shea Brewing Co. is growing, Akron Beacon Journal reported on January 18.
The nanobrewery, located in Akron’s Merriman Valley, has been open to beer drinkers only since September. But owner and brewer Ron Shea says he’s adding more fermenters to keep up with demand.
The brewery will boost its capacity from 23 barrels a month to 44 barrels by adding 3.5- and seven-barrel fermenters.
“With this, I will be able to keep up with taproom consumption while growing some distribution beyond Mustard Seed,” Shea said.
He’s also added four more draft lines, with two of those devoted to nitro brews.
Shea reported that his Peppermint Milk Stout on nitro, Chocolate Coffee Stout and unfiltered West Coast Citra IPA are the best-sellers.
