Vietnam: Carlsberg officially launches Tuborg beer in Vietnam
Carlsberg formally introduced Tuborg, its premium international beer, to Vietnam on April 8, The Nation reported.
Tuborg is the No 1 brand by volume in the Carlsberg Group portfolio. It is sold in more than 70 countries and continues to grow globally, particularly in Asia.
"Vietnam is a big market with a large, young population who are very socially active and love to share fun moments together with their friends.
"That is why we strongly believe Tuborg is perfectly suited for Vietnamese consumers and we are very excited to bring Tuborg to Vietnam," said Carlsberg official Tayfun Uner at the launch.
"While the brand is fun and young, it also has over 140 years of a proud European brewing heritage.
"The pull-off cap and special embossed bottle make the brand immediately distinctive - setting this brand apart from anything else in the market.
"We are optimistic that Vietnamese consumers will love Tuborg," he said.
Tuborg began in Hellerup, north of Copenhagen, where the Tuborg Brewery brewed Denmark's first Pilsner-type beer in 1880 and packaged it in bottles with a distinctive green label.
The government has offered financial support to the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, or Vinatex, for training the labour force in the textile and garment industry this year.
The funds worth 63.5 billion dong (Bt100 million) would come from the state budget for education and training activities, reported Dau tu (Investment) online.
Former prime minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked Vinatex to manage and use the funds under the existing regulations.
That action was initiated under a development strategy for Vietnam's textile and garment industry by last year and forward to 2020, approved by the former prime minister in 2008.
