USA, MO: 2nd Shift Brewing moving to a larger location in New Haven
2nd Shift Brewing is moving to The Hill neighbourhood in New Haven, KSDK.com reported.
The brewery, known for beers like Cat Spit Stout and Albino Pygmy Puma, has been located in New Haven, Missouri, since 2009. Co-owners Libby and Steve Crider have announced plans to relocate to a new building at 1601 Sublette Ave on the edge of The Hill neighborhood.
According to a release, the new 18,000 square foot facility will allow room for growth, production of more barrel-aged beers, and future packaging options. The new building will include a tasting room, something it did not have at its New Haven facility. And, 2nd Shift is also partnering with the Tilford Restaurant Group, which owns Mission Taco Joint, to create food offerings.
An exact opening date has not been announced, but 2nd Shift is aiming for later this summer.
2nd Shift says it will be the first ever brewery and tasting room to open on The Hill, but the surrounding area has seen several new brewing facilities open recently. Urban Chestnut opened its second location on Manchester Ave in 2014, and plans to open a smaller research brewery across the street sometime soon. Modern Brewery also has a tasting room on Manchester, with limited Friday and Saturday hours. And Rockwell Beer Company is working to open a brewery on Vandeventer Ave sometime in 2017.
