Canada, ON: Windmill Brewery opens in Johnstown, Ontario
Ontario Beverage Network reports that a new brewery has opened in Johnstown, a small town 100 km south of Ottawa on the St. Lawrence River.
Windmill Brewery has been opened by Sean Lucey, and is named after the Battle of the Windmill, a battle that took place in 1838 following the short-lived Upper Canada Rebellion. The location of the battle is now a National Historic Site, and is a short distance from the brewery, which shares a building at 5 Newport Drive with the recently launched King’s Lock Craft Distillery.
Windmill is currently offering a single beer, a Pilsner, in its on-site taproom and growler shop.
