USA, CA: Rouleur Brewing Company scheduled to open this March
Another local home brewer is preparing to make the leap to professional brewmaster via H.G. Fenton’s Brewery Igniter project, launching soon in Carlsbad and joining other H.G. Fenton brewery incubators in Miramar and North Park, Eater San Diego reported on January 18.
Owner Rawley Macias, who has been homebrewing for more than a decade and is a certified craft beer judge, will tap Rouleur Brewing Company this March. The 2,000-square-foot space includes a ten tap tasting room and brewing system that can produce up to 1,800 barrels per year. It will share the Brewery Igniter building with another brand new craft brewery, Wiseguy Brewing Company.
An avid cyclist, Macias named the brewery after a type of road bicycle racer known for being able to ride well over many kinds of terrain. Calling himself a “rule bender”, Macias says that his beers won’t fit traditional style guidelines, and that he plans on developing new flavor profiles. All the beer names will also be cycling-inspired, including his six core beers: The Domestique (blonde ale), The Sprinteur (red ale), The Puncheur (pale ale), The Grimpeur (dark ale), The Clydesdale (IPA) and The Soloist (golden strong ale), which will always be poured at the tasting room along with seasonal and specialty offerings.
Rouleur Brewing Company beers will be available in to-go growlers and crowlers (32 ounce cans), with the goal of offering 750ml bottles by late 2017.
