India: Carlsberg signs contract manufacturing deal to establish footprint in Arunachal Pradesh
Carlsberg India, the number three player in the Indian beer market, recently announced a contract manufacturing association with NEFA Breweries, the first brewery in Arunachal Pradesh, thereby establishing the company’s local footprint in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, The Arunachal Times reported on March 27.
With this association, Carlsberg India aims to further strengthen its presence in the North-Eastern region.
NEFA’s state-of-the-art brewery is set up in Naharlagun having an annual production capacity of 300KHL. The new brewery will manufacture Carlsberg India’s product portfolio.
Speaking on the new development, Michael N Jensen, Managing Director, Carlsberg India said, “We are pleased to announce our association with NEFA Breweries and establish local footprint in Arunachal Pradesh. This association will not only help us augment our capacity in the region, but will also help us strengthen our presence in the North-East market. The business association is aimed at ensuring that our quality brand portfolio is available to our consumers.”
Sanjay Dewan, Managing Director, NEFA Breweries said, “We are happy to set up the first brewery in the state and look forward to adding to the economic development and industrialization of the state. With 10 years of operations in India, Carlsberg India has established seven breweries and three co-manufacturing associations across the country and is known for providing consumers with the finest products.
This association reiterates Carlsberg’s long-standing commitment to the Indian market and focus on providing enriching consumer experiences, according to a release from Carlsberg India.
