Bulgaria: Kamenitza AD, owned by InBev, reported nearly 1 million hectolitres of beer output for the first eight months of 2004, up by 15% in comparison with the same period last year. Kamenitza AD is part of Interbrew, which was renamed to InBev after the merger of Interbrew and AmBev.

One of the oldest beer companies in the world, it is among the biggest investors in Bulgaria and holds 28% of the local beer market, keeping the heat on the current leader Heineken (30%), according to Novinte’s press statement. The company owns three breweries in Plovdiv, Haskovo and Pleven and boasts in its portfolio seven brands, including Kamenitza, Astika, Pleven, Slavena, Stella Artois.
