USA, MN: Wooden Hill Brewing Company expected to open in Edina this fall
Two brothers—one a nanotechnology scientist, the other an entrepreneur with degrees in biology and medicine—are starting a brewery and taproom project in Edina, Minnesota, called Wooden Hill Brewing Company, The Growler reported on May 23.
James and Sean Ewen are currently working to transform the space at 7421 Bush Lake Road into the city’s first production brewery and taproom. Originally, the building the Ewens leased was only 4,755 square feet, but a move by a neighboring tenant allowed the brewery to lease an adjacent unit to increase their space to 9,000 square feet. The extra room will allow the Ewens to add a kitchen to service the taproom and will give them the opportunity to expand brewing operations at their current location in the future.
Wooden Hill’s brewery will be equipped with a 10-barrel brewhouse, three 20-barrel fermenters, and three 20-barrel brite tanks from Rocky Mountain Vessels, slated for delivery this June. Initially, the Ewens will focus on producing beer to serve at the taproom, with distribution down the road. The brewery is expected to open to the public this fall.
