USA, WI: Copper State Brewing Co. opening on June 1
In two days, Copper State Brewing Co. will hold its grand opening in downtown Green Bay, wbay.com reported on May 30.
After taking over the old Hinterland Brewery back in April, new owner Gregg Mattek knew they had some work cut out for them.
“We knew that people would always remember this as hinterland because they did a good job her and it was a great experience so we had to figure out how to capitalize on that and grow from there,” said Mattek.
In just two short months, they demolished walls, expanded the brew house and redesigned the building to make it their own.
“Folks who have been through Hinterland before will be shocked at sort of how we opened it up and took advantage of the great natural light we have with the windows here,” said Mattek.
Unlike traditional breweries, Copper State will open pretty early to serve its iconic Copper Rock Coffee Company.
“The coffee shop will be open as of 6 am. We will open our bar at 11 am so people that want to come in and grab lunch from the coffee shop can stop over at the bar for a beer,” said Mattek.
Mattek said you can’t have a coffee shop at a brewery without some coffee infused beer to go around.
“We are calling it our platinum coffee blonde,” said Mattek. “It’s a blonde stout with coffee, which surprises a lot of people.”
There are still some minor changes to be made to the menu and some permits to be finalized with the city for an outdoor beer garden, but Mattek said all-in-all they are ready for business.
