Canada, AB: Zero Issue Brewing to launch in Calgary on the upcoming Canada Day weekend
A new brewery with a name and branding philosophy inspired by the owners’ love of comic books has announced that it will be launching in Calgary on the upcoming Canada Day weekend, Canadian Beer News reported on June 23.
Zero Issue Brewing – named after the numbering that comic publishers often use for special prequel or origin issues of their series – has been founded by brothers Mark and Kirk MacDonald. Both have been homebrewers for a number of years, and Kirk took a year of the brewing program at Olds College before working at Village Brewery.
Zero Issue will be launching with three beers – Dystopia White IPA, Multiverse Pale Ale, and Nemesis IPA – and three events:
Saturday July 1st – Retail debut at 5 Vines (218 12 Ave SE, Calgary)
Sunday July 2nd – Launch party at Bottlescrew Bill’s (140 10 Ave SW, Calgary)
Wednesday July 5th – Taphouse grand opening at Zero Issue Brewing (4210 12 St NE, Calgary).
