Canada, AB: Sawback Brewing plans to open its doors in the spring of 2018
A new brewery has announced plans to open in Red Deer, Alberta next year, Canadian Beer News reported on September 25.
Sawback Brewing takes its name from the Sawback Mountain Range which is the source of the Red Deer River, the main water supply for the city of Red Deer.
“We will have a 10bbl brewhouse matched up with multiple serving tanks,” says Sawback co-owner Nathan Prestie. “We will also have a pilot system to aggressively develop our seasonal and cask style ales. Beer styles will range from light golden Pilsner, to Dark Stouts, although Pale Ale, Session Ale, and IPA will be the brewery’s main focus. There are plans to expand a sour program as well.”
Prestie also notes that the distribution and sales will primarily be done via an on-site taproom and retail store featuring a growler station, but will expand as demand increases.
Sawback Brewing is expected to open in the spring of 2018.
