Canada, ON: Barnstormer Brewing sets aside plans to open second location in Midland

Simcoe.com reports that Barnstormer Brewing has set aside plans to open a second location in Midland based on the results of a preliminary environmental study.

According to the article, low levels of industrial contamination were found in the municipal parking lot where the new facility was planned to be located.

While the levels are below provincial guidelines and do not pose a health risk, it is still enough of a concern that further environmental studies need to take place before any development can proceed. As a result, both Barnstormer and the Town of Midland have agreed to a withdrawal of the land sale originally announced in February.

Barnstormer founder Dustin Norlund notes that “there is still a very strong desire to expand operations into the Town of Midland, and despite this setback, we will continue to explore other options in the community.”
