USA, VA: Alexandria Brewing planning to open in Alexandria in March 2018
A new craft beer brewery and tasting room will begin pouring in southern Campbell County in March 2018, cincinnatti.com reported on December 11.
Iraq War veteran Andy Reyolds and his business partner Brad Martin will have 16 beers on tap when they open Alexandria Brewing at 7926 U.S. 27, Alexandria.
A pinball machine and retro arcade games will pair with craft beer and barbecue-style cuisine inside the tasting room. Alexandria Brewing is renovating 7,900 square feet in the Jolly Towne Centre shops.
A second-floor mezzanine will be for private parties, Reynolds said. An outdoor beer garden area will be built.
"We're set up to have 16 taps, and 10 of them will be our beers at any given time," he said.
Signature Alexandria Brewing offerings will include a Belgian style wit, a Belgian Trappist-style tripel, a Trappist-style quad and a Berlinerweiss. A couple of India Pale Ale varieties will usually be on tap too, Reynolds said.
Reynolds' homage to his U.S. Army service will typically be served once a year as one of six rotating seasonal releases.
“Brothers In Arms,” a Russian imperial stout, was initially brewed six years ago with seven of Reynolds’ U.S. Army buddies in Southgate, Kentucky. Reynolds served in Iraq in 2006 and 2007.
Campbell County-based food truck Four Mile Pig will operate as a separate business inside the tasting room to pair with craft beers.
Pinball and arcade games on a "cocktail machine" will be available for play including retro games Pac-Man, Centipede, and Donkey Kong.
"We’re shooting for a March opening," Reynolds said.
