USA, OR: Migration Brewing launching brewery and brewpub in Gresham
Portland's Migration Brewing plans to open a new, large production brewery and brewpub in Gresham at 18188 N.E. Wilkes Road just south of Interstate 84, the Pamplin Media Group reported on December 10.
Migration has signed a long-term lease at an industrial park east of 181st Avenue that will accommodate a 20,000-square-foot facility including a brewing system from Practical Fusion Fabricators alongside a 3,000 square foot brewpub, according to the BrewPublic.com website. Migration plans to open the new location by summer 2018.
The 7-year-old brewery, based at 2828 N.E. Glisan St. in Portland, announced its intentions to expand as it signed a distribution agreement with Portland's Columbia River Brewing Company.
"We are excited to become a vibrant part of the Gresham community while greatly expanding our product's reach through packaging and draft sales," said Mike Branes, Migration's head Brewer and co-owner in a statement. "We look forward to working with our distribution partner Columbia to provide consumers throughout Oregon, and Washington with more of Migration's award wining beers."
Migration plans to expand its beer program to include lagers, extensive barrel aging and a steady stream of the company's most popular distribution beers, Straight Outta Portland IPA, and Patio Pale Ale, BrewPublic.com said, and operate its second community oriented brewpub featuring hand-made pizzas, sandwhiches and other pub fare.
Gresham breweries currently include McMenamins Highland Pub & Brewery on Southeast Powell Boulevard, Hoppy Brewer on North Main Avenue, and Barley Sprout Restaurant & Brewery on Southeast 223rd Avenue.
