USA, VA: Brick & Mortar Brewing Co. already open in Suffolk, Virginia
Brick & Mortar Brewing Co. opened Saturday, March 16 at 212 E. Washington St. in downtown Suffolk after renovations of a circa 1900 building, the Daily Press reported.
Owner David Stacknick, along with his co-owners and investment partners, envision the brewery as a neighborhood hangout and a destination for out-of-town visitors, according to a news release. Stacknick is a Suffolk volunteer firefighter.
The repurposed 4,670-square-foot building was once the home of Milton Elliott’s Elliott Motor Co., according to a city news release. The brewery’s exposed brick walls, high trellis and ceiling and wooden hand-crafted tables and chairs creates an open environment with an industrial-weathered vibe.
Patrons are able to sample the beers via flights or can order pints or growlers to go. Selections will rotate but Brick & Mortar plans to consistently offer a dozen beers on tap consisting of a mix of their own house brews and other local favorites. Modest Molly, a white India pale ale (IPA), and Peanut City Porter, an homage to Suffolk’s moniker, have been making their rounds at local events.
Hours of operation are: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
