USA, CA: San Francisco Brewing Co.’s brewery officially open
San Francisco Brewing Co.’s 12,000-square-foot restaurant and brewery has officially opened at Ghirardelli Square, breathing new life into one of San Francisco’s iconic tourist destinations, the San Francisco Chronicle reported on May 9.
The project is a beer-lovers dream. The San Francisco Brewing team installed a custom brewing system at the location, which means each beer is being poured directly from the temperature-controlled tanks where it is finished.
When it comes to ordering, customers have the option of pouring their own beers at the location’s self-serve beer wall, which charges by the ounce.
The San Francisco Brewing crew’s restaurant will seat 120 inside and 100 more outside. At the helm in the kitchen is Abraham Ibarra (Perry’s), who put together a beer-friendly menu of pizzas, sandwiches and snacks (think bacon-wrapped dates and spicy onion rings).
It’s worth pointing out that San Francisco Brewing Co. represents one moment within what appears to be a renaissance at Ghirardelli Square. The new venture will soon be joined by Palette, a new dim sum spot from the Koi Palace folks. Meanwhile Subpar, an outpost of the East Bay put-put business, has an 18-hole course in the works for the square.
