Denmark: Carlsberg A/S announced on October 26, 2004 that Carlsberg Danmark has made several changes to its sales organisation with effect from today. The changes were made to increase Carlsberg's competitiveness by shortening the decision making chain and by making the organization more streamlined and focused.
The new sales organisation will be divided into 2 areas: Off-trade (primarily retail) and On-trade (restaurants, hotels and cafйs). Also, a Business Development function will be established (including contacts with partners such as Coca-Cola and Diageo, etc.). The managers of these three areas will refer directly to Jшrn Tolstrup Rohde, who was named as Managing Director of Carlsberg Danmark in August 2004.
The sales organisation has until now been managed by sales director Claus Bo Jacobsen, who has had a very broad area of responsibility. This position will be removed in the new sales organisation. As a consequence, Claus Bo Jacobsen has chosen to resign his position to seek new challenges elsewhere. He will also resign his posts on the boards of Dansk Retursystem Holding, Bryggeriforeningen (the Danish Brewers' Association) and Saltum/Neptun Bryggerier.
