USA, IA: Marto Brewing Company to hold grand opening on June 20

Downtown Sioux City's newest brewery, Marto Brewing Company plans to open on June 20th, fulfilling a nearly 5-year-long dream, the Siouxland News reported on June 15.

The restaurant will feature a wood-fired stove, which will cook pizza, wings, oysters and ribs, all made in house.

"This has been a very long process to open this location. Spent a while trying to get the correct location for what we had a vision of," said Owner Erik Martin.

Brewer, Rod Wellman agreed saying, "I think that Sioux City is ready for a place like this where we'll combine high quality craft beer, a lot of different varieties for people to choose from, as well as an excellent menu that Chef Nick is putting together. It's going to be a very unique experience."

While the brewery will open on June 20, its house-brewed beers won't be ready until mid-July. They say until then, they'll have a selection of "guest" beers on tap.
