Vietnam: AB InBev sets environmental and business sustainability as its goals in Vietnam
Brewery news

Anheuser-Busch InBev has set environmental and business sustainability as its goals in Vietnam, which it sees as Southeast Asia’s fastest growing beer market, VnExpress International reported on October 5.

Towards this, it is focusing on increased recycling and utilization of renewable energy while producing beer of international quality to serve the Vietnamese market, having developed a "deep understanding" of the local beer-drinking culture.

The company’s VSIP Brewery in Vietnam, established in 2005, is its first in Southeast Asia and one of 55 most advanced breweries producing the Budweiser brand worldwide.

The company says it is strongly committed to maintaining global quality standards and keeping intact the original beer. Towards this, brewery is invested with modern equipment, automation and the most advanced technology.

It also applies globally standardized quality control processes from raw materials to finished products. A highly specialized quality management team that oversees the strictly precise quality control system for each indicator.

There is no difference between the global beers of Anheuser-Busch InBev and those made in Vietnam, said Phan Trong Chinh, director of Anheuser-Busch InBev VSIP Binh Duong Brewery.

With a capacity of 1 million hectolitres per year, Anheuser-Busch InBev Vietnam currently produces the Budweiser®, Beck's® and Hoegaarden® beer brands for the domestic market and export to other countries in Southeast Asia.

Of these brands, the most famous one is Budweiser, marketed as the king of all beers. This brand has been around since 1876, and the company says it still retains the original premium quality uniformly.

It further says that the process of making Budweiser is very complicated with many stages that take longer than usual to get the premium silky soft beer that is the pride of Anheuser-Busch InBev Vietnam.

Towards making its operations more environmentally friendly and sustainable, Anheuser-Busch InBev has increased the rate of bottle recycling, and the use of environment-friendly materials in packaging, contributing to increasing the rate of recycling around the world, including Vietnam, through recovery and reuse of materials. The company also educates consumers about the importance of recycling.

As part of its commitment to fighting global climate change, Anheuser-Busch InBev Vietnam has added solar panels to its production process and applied stabilization methods. It aims to ensure that by 2025, 100 percent of the power supplied to the plant is from renewable energy sources like solar and wind power.

The company says that all these and other activities undertaken by Anheuser-Busch InBev Vietnam underscore its long-term commitment to the country as well as its desire to fulfil the dream of Bringing People Together for a Better World.
