USA, WI: Manitowoc receiving $250,000 in state money to help PetSkull Brewing expansion
The City of Manitowoc is receiving $250,000 in state money to help turn an old building into an expanded brewery and restaurant, Fox11online.com reported on February 12.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation says the century-old industrial building at 1015 Buffalo Street is next to the RiverPoint District. The city is working to redevelop the 20-acre former railyard into a mix of residential, commercial and entertainment properties. It is located on a peninsula in the Manitowoc River.
The adjacent building will become the new location for PetSkull Brewing's expansion. The $1.5 million project is expected to be completed by July.
“We are excited that PetSkull Brewing will continue to grow in our historic downtown and expand their part-time business into a full-time brewing operation in the River Point District,” Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels said in a news release. “We are grateful for the support from the WEDC which contributes to small business expansion in the area.”
The city expects the expansion project to support 35-40 construction jobs, with the brewery and restaurant adding as many as five full-time and 18 part-time jobs.
