North America: AB InBev appoints new zone president, North America
Anheuser-Busch InBev SA said it has tapped Brendan Whitworth as zone president, North America, and chief executive of its Anheuser-Busch business, effective July 1, MarketWatch.com reported on June 29.
The Budweiser brewer also on Monday named Ezgi Barcenas to be its new chief sustainability officer.
The company said on June 28 that Mr. Whitworth, currently its U.S. chief sales officer, will succeed Michel Doukeris, who is transitioning to the role of global CEO of AB InBev.
"With his deep roots in the U.S., his experience partnering with our wholesaler and retail customers, and his ability to inspire the North America team, I am confident Brendan is the right leader to accelerate our momentum in the U.S. and Canada," Mr. Doukeris said.
The beer maker said the appointment of Ms. Barcenas is effective Aug. 1, and she will report directly to Mr. Doukeris. The current chief sustainability Officer, Tony Milikin, will step down at that time, the company said.
"The appointment of [Ms. Barcenas] as our fully dedicated chief sustainability officer is a recognition of the importance of sustainability and reflects our commitment to driving business outcomes and delivering value through our ESG agenda," Mr. Doukeris said.
