USA, MI: Ogma Brewing Co. already open in Jackson

Andrew Volk doesn’t mind how long it took for Ogma Brewing Co. to open, MLive.com reported on December 11.

Volk owns the brewery with brothers Troy and Kevin Craft. They opened for business on Wednesday, Nov. 24.

“There are always going to obstacles. We sure had our fair share of them,” Volk said. “We learned a lot through it. The timing is exactly the way it was meant to be.”

Opening night was a success.

“It was incredible,” Volk said. “It was just so nice to finally have people in here.”

The brewery currently has six beers on tap but have a 12 tap system and will build up to that. The kitchen is slated to open on Saturday, Dec. 18. They also offer to go cans of beer.

“We are offering a cozy, little intimate environment with good music and low lights,” Volk said.
The interior is a work in progress with a lot of space on the walls to be filled, Volk said.

Volk said when the kitchen opens, it will be “small but mighty.” Five to six entrees and a few appetizers are planned.

Ogma Brewing Co., 129 E. Michigan Ave. in Jackson, is open noon to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and noon to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
