Canada, BC: Canuck Empire Brewing returns with new facility in Abbotsford
A brewery that originally launched in 2014 in Abbotsford before closing after several years in operation has returned with a new facility in the city’s U-District, the Canadian Beer News reported on May 12.
Canuck Empire Brewing has been established by Brandon Wiggins with an aim to create “Distinctive Beers for Offbeat Canadians”.
While still awaiting the lounge license that will allow the serving of full pints, the taproom is currently pouring samples, flights, and growlers of an opening line-up that includes Rye Porter (7.1% abv), Brown Ale (3.7% abv), Juicy IPA (6% abv), English IPA (5.8% abv), Coast Trail Pale Ale (4.9% abv), Stargazer Chamomile Wheat (5.9% abv), Kiwi Hibiscus Sour (4.3% abv), Dry Hop Sour (4.7% abv), and 11am Lager (4.2% abv).
A selection of non-alcoholic beverages are also available, along with a snack menu that includes grilled cheese sandwiches, waffles, and ice cream sandwiches.
Canuck Empire Brewing is located at 33797 King Road, across from the Abbotsford Centre, and is open Thursday to Sunday.
