USA, SC: Voodoo Brewing to hold officially opening on August 27
It’s been a steady transformation for downtown Fountain Inn over the past two decades.
The town on the southern edge of Greenville County has built itself into a small-scale destination. Now the town’s Main Street has a new attraction.
On Aug. 27, Voodoo Brewing Co. officially opens its doors after more than a year in the works, the Post and Courier reported on August 26.
It’s the first southward expansion for the brewery based out of Meadville, Penn., equidistant from Pittsburgh and Cleveland with several franchise locations across those areas. A future site is planned in Las Vegas.
The Fountain Inn location is owned by Dave and Kim Simons, who visited the Greenville area repeatedly over the years and decided to move from northern Virginia and build a house in Simpsonville. In looking for a novel place to open a beer hall, they settled just a few miles south.
The Fourth of July celebration saw 12,000 people downtown, and crowds regularly show for the concert series, Dave said.
“We just kind of discovered Fountain Inn,” he said. “It’s a beautiful town, it’s growing, it has a great Main Street. We looked at it and said, ‘This is the ideal spot.’”
