Canada, BC: Three Lakes Brewing aiming to open later this year in Kelowna
A new brewery with a camping and outdoors theme and a focus on “locals supporting locals” is aiming to open later this year in Kelowna, the Canadian Beer News reported on April 6.
Three Lakes Brewing is being established by Melanie Raby, her daughter and brewer Tara Raby, and friend Cathy van Kesteren.
The trio had originally intended to open in Lake Country in the Okanagan Valley, but when a location there fell through, they changed plans and found their future home in Kelowna’s Airport Business Park.
Three Lakes will initially be contracting the production of the wort for its beers out to another brewery, and doing fermentation and packaging on-site. Recipes in development include lager, fruit wheat ale, IPA, sour ale, and barley wine.
The facility will include a tasting room with capacity for 25-30 patrons, and a mezzanine level available for private events and business meetings.
Three Lakes Brewing is currently under construction at 7-2030 Matrix Crescent in Kelowna, and aims to be open by July.
