USA, PA: Willow Creek Brewing sets June 16 as its last date of business
A destination for locally brewed stouts, IPAs and other beers in Berks County is set to end operations later this spring, WFMZ.com reported on April 10.
Willow Creek Brewing, a craft brewery offering a wide assortment of beers as well as entertainment such as live music, karaoke and trivia, will hold its last day of business on June 16, owners Mark and Joanne Camlin announced "with a heavy heart" on the business' social media pages.
"With the rise of goods and services along with the changing tides of consumers, it is time to move onto our next chapter, retirement," the couple announced.
"The good news is, we still have 2 1/2 months left to sing, dance, drink, and celebrate together. Come in and visit our incredible team Amy, John, and Jake, the best bartenders/friends ever! You guys are priceless and we love you!"
Willow Creek Brewing has become a popular spot for craft beer enthusiasts seeking a wide array of flavorful brews.
Unique selections include Ugly Dog (hazy New England IPA), Brooks Fore Ever (mild blonde ale), Basement Monkey (black cherry IPA), Hollow Chocolate Bunny's (stout), West Reading IPA (West Coast IPA), Faller's Pretzel Ale (wheat ale brewed with pretzels) and Nice Peach! (peach blonde ale).
Guests can enjoy their beers in the brewery's taproom or in an outdoor beer garden, complete with cornhole, string lights and picnic tables.
Food trucks also regularly appear at the brewery.
Over the years, Willow Creek Brewing has supported the community in multiple ways, including hosting a 2023 fundraiser where 100% of proceeds benefited the families and individuals affected by the R.M. Palmer Company chocolate factory explosion.
In 2022, the brewery also collaborated on a beer to raise money for Keystone Military Families.
"For over 40+ years, Mark's dream was to own a brewery," Willow Creek Brewing's online announcement reads.
"He wanted to share his love for beer with the world. We have done that for the past 3 1/2 years and what an adventure it has been. We have made such incredible friendships here. We've watched friendships form, love grow, marriages begin, and babies bless our WCB family."
On Facebook, the brewery's closing announcement has garnered more than 390 reactions and 120 comments, mostly from customers reminiscing about fun times at the brewery and extending warm wishes to the owners.
