USA, NJ: Icarus Brewing opens its new facility in Brick
More than three years ago the owner of Icarus Brewing had a vision for expanding, Patch.com reported on July 3.
On Wednesday, July 3, that vision was revealed to the public as the microbrewery opened in its new facility on Route 88 in Brick.
"We're incredibly excited to finally share our new home with the community," said Jason Goldstein, owner and founder of Icarus Brewing, said. "For over seven years, our Lakewood location has been the heart of Icarus Brewing. This move allows us to expand our brewing capabilities, offer a more spacious and comfortable experience for our patrons, and continue delivering the innovative beers our customers have come to love."
The plans for the new microbrewery and taproom were approved in August 2021 by the Brick Township Planning Board, and include both indoor and outdoor seating to accommodate more than 350 patrons, brewery officials said. There are 30 beers on tap.
There is a cozy lounge area, and a sprawling Beer Garden with a firepit and is family- and dog-friendly. In addition, the taproom is available for rental for private parties in the ground-floor Barrel Room, the Mezzanine Bar, and views into the Brew House and Taproom below, and large-scale gatherings such as weddings.
The taproom opened at noon Wednesday after soft openings for family and friends. A grand opening celebration is set for Saturday, July 20, from noon to 10 p.m.
"We can't wait to raise a glass with everyone and celebrate this exciting new chapter for Icarus Brewing," Goldstein said.
The brewery's new home is at 2045 Route 88, the site of the former Shore Restaurant Supply. Its hours are posted on the Icarus Brewing website; through July 7, the end of the holiday weekend, the hours are as follows: Wednesday, July 3, noon-10 p.m.; Thursday, July 4, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Friday, July 5, noon-10 p.m.; Saturday, July 6, noon-10 p.m.; Sunday, July 7, noon-8 p.m.
