USA, IL: Ten Ninety Brewing closes its doors for good
Brewery news

Glenview’s first microbrewery Ten Ninety Brewing recently closed its doors for good, Journal & Topics reported on January 22.

Ten Ninety opened in Zion in 2012 and moved to Glenview, opening on April 22, 2016, at 1025 Waukegan Rd.

Glenview officials said they learned of the closure the week of Monday, Jan. 10, referring questions about the property’s future to property owners, who reporters could not immediately reach. The last activity on Ten Ninety’s Facebook page was in November.

“We have not spoken to the owner about the reasons for the closing. But I know craft brewers have struggled since the pandemic,” Glenview Community Engagement Director David Just said in an email to the Journal & Topics.

Throughout the last year, the village has provided financial incentives to restaurant operators, often in the form of 10-year forgivable loans, who plan to build and open new restaurants in downtown Glenview.

“None of the current support and assistance programs existed when Ten Ninety opened, so they would not have been available to them in 2016,” Just said. “The village did not receive any requests from Ten Ninety for financial assistance since the grants were made available.”
