Mexico: Grupo Modelo’s beers secure three spots among Mexico’s most valuable brands
Grupo Modelo secured three spots among Mexico’s most valuable brands in Kantar BrandZ 2025 ranking. For the second consecutive year, Corona was recognized as the country’s most valuable brand, followed by Cerveza Modelo in third place and Cerveza Victoria in sixth, Mexico Business News reported.
Kantar BrandZ evaluates brands based on innovation and consumer relationships. This year, Corona, valued at over US$18.7 billion, stood out for its presence in entertainment, music, and sports, as well as for the launch of Corona Golden Light and the participation of Corona Cero as the first Mexican brand to sponsor the Paris 2024 Olympics. Cerveza Modelo, valued at US$11.5 billion, has positioned itself as a premium option associated with special occasions, while Cerveza Victoria, worth US$3.7 billion, maintains a strong connection to Mexican traditions and cultural identity.
Daniel Cocenzo, President, Grupo Modelo, emphasized the significance of this recognition. “Being part of Kantar BrandZ 2025 in such a special year fills us with pride and motivates us to keep contributing to the country’s growth. This achievement would not be possible without the trust of Mexicans who have supported us for 100 years,” he said.
Grupo Modelo remains a pillar of Mexico’s economy, employing nearly 30,000 people across eight breweries. The beer industry contributes 1.6% of the national GDP, sources 73% of its raw materials domestically, and generates up to 40% of revenue for small retailers. Grupo Modelo also participates in the government-backed Hecho en México (Made in Mexico) program, with Corona, Victoria, Modelo Especial, and Pacifico carrying a seal that highlights Mexican craftsmanship and innovation.
The Kantar BrandZ report, published annually, is a global benchmark for measuring brand value and market relevance. Grupo Modelo’s continued success underscores its ability to balance tradition with innovation, ensuring its brands remain at the forefront of the industry.
