Australia: ABB Grain appoints new General Manager, Trading
Major Australian agribusiness, ABB Grain Ltd, announced on September 2 the appointment of Peter Jones as General Manager, Trading.
Mr Jones, who joined ABB in June, will have the responsibilities of shipping and chartering, cash barley trading, commodities trading - including cereals and oilseeds, pulses, soya bean meal – besides overseeing the company’s accumulation strategy. He will report directly to ABB Managing Director, Michael Iwaniw.
Mr Iwaniw said he was delighted Mr Jones had accepted the position.
“This is an area of business in which ABB is looking to grow and an exciting area in which there has been significant growth in recent years,” Mr Iwaniw said.
“I’m pleased that Peter has accepted this challenging role – he will head up an energetic, diverse and highly skilled trading team.”
Mr Jones brings to the role extensive experience in trading, including domestic barley trading, cash barley acquisitions, wheat products and grain accumulation and chartering.
“I’m very excited to be offered this new challenge after joining ABB in June and look forward to achieving the company’s long term goals” he said.
