Canada: Feed barley PRO unchanged, according to CWB

The CWB released on April 27 its Pool Return Outlook (PRO) for Feed Barley Pool B for the 2005-06 crop year. The Feed Barley Pool B PRO is unchanged compared to the March PRO.

PROs are the CWB's estimate of crop year returns. Farmers who use PROs to make marketing decisions are advised that unusual weather in importing or exporting countries and other changes in market conditions could dramatically affect the price forecasts. PROs are not price guarantees and should not be confused with initial payments. PROs also do not represent CWB offer values for prospective sales transactions nor sales values for actual transactions.

Feed Barley Pool B PRO (2005-2006 crop year) remains unchanged for April, as global feed barley fundamentals remain largely unchanged since last month, CWB posted on April 27. Ocean freight rates are increasing, which is increasing the North American freight disadvantage into primary offshore feed barley markets.
