UK: Shepherd Neame acquired Plough and Horses pub in Hampshire
Brewery news

Kent brewer Shepherd Neame has acquired the Plough and Horses pub at the village of Cove in Hampshire for an undisclosed sum, the company released August 16.

The late Victorian brick-built pub is popular with locals and visitors alike and is lent character by its low ceilings, numerous alcoves and an open fire.

The pub, based on Fleet Road, will continue to be managed by Aaron Davis.

Shepherd Neame tenanted trade and property director George Barnes said: "The Plough and Horses is an exciting acquisition for Shepherd Neame extending our boundaries into Hampshire. We are delighted to add a quality pub with such character to our portfolio."

Shepherd Neame now has some 370 pubs across the South East. The award-winning estate is characterised by rural village pubs and suburban community pubs, ranging from food-focused destination houses and historic coaching inns to traditional community 'locals'.

The brewery's portfolio includes traditional Kentish ales like Spitfire and Bishops Finger and internationally renowned lagers brewed under licence, such as Holsten Export (Germany), Kingfisher (India), Oranjeboom Pilsener (Holland), Sun Lik (Hong Kong) and Hurlimann Sternbrau (Switzerland) for sale in our pubs as well as in supermarkets and off-licences.
