Uganda: Uganda Breweries (UBL) to sell Senator draught in special keg in selected towns areas

Uganda Breweries (UBL) has developed a special keg to sell Senator draught beer in selected peri-urban areas in the city and other upcountry towns, The New Vision released August 24.

The brand manager of Senator Extra Lager, Brian Muwonge, said the keg is aimed at attracting new consumers of Senator Lager and giving an opportunity to more Ugandans to enjoy the beer at a cheaper price.

UBL is Uganda's leading brewer, producing the country's favourite beer and spirits. Bell Lager is the company's flagship brand. Its other core brands Pilsner Ice, Pilsner Extra and Guinness. In addition UBL is the leading spirits distiller in Uganda with Waragi as its main brand. UBL has been the dominant brewer in Uganda since it began operations in 1946. In 1999 the Port Bell Brewery was completely modernised and its operating capacity was expanded. It has a total brewing capacity of 750,000 hectolitres per year.

Uganda Breweries is a part of East African Breweries Ltd, which also includes Kenya Breweries, Central Glass Industries, Kenya Malt Industries and UDV Kenya.
